| Peru Trip 2 in September
2004 —
During the first trip
to Cusco, Peru, the group met children from Elim Orphanage. Elim
Orphanage is a boys' orphanage. Each day girls were allowed in
the orphanage for refuge but were turned out at night. Some girls
lived on the streets. The hearts of our group were moved and
burdened for these homeless girls. In
September 2004, a team of three people returned to Cusco, Peru, to
take money to purchase a building for the girls. Today, the girls
have a nice home to live.
Below are pictures
taken this summer (2006) of the girls' home. There are about 12
girls there now. On two floors are small guest apartments to host
volunteers who pay to stay there. This generates extra
operating income for them.
Please pray for our
church as we continue to help support this mission. |
